Lagos Explosion caused by Fuel-Laden tank, not bomb

The Lagos State Police command has refuted claims that the explosion that happened last night at Creek road in Apapa Lagos was caused by a bomb saying it was caused by a tanker carrying petrol

Force Public Relations officer, Ngozi Braide explains

“There is nothing whatsoever suggesting that it was a bomb explosion. It was a tanker loaded with fuel that burst into flames.

Policemen are on ground there now and we cannot yet ascertain the casualty figures. But everything is under control,” she said.

In a contradictory statement, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA South-West said the cause of the fire was as a result of a gas cylinder explosion.

"People were reported to be filling gas into the cylinder before it exploded. The incident happened within Folawiyo Energy Premises but they did not allow fire men into their premises at all” Mr. Farinloye said in a text message to Premium times.

What’s the relationship between you and Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi?

I only know him to be Rivers State governor, and from his performances so far, he has proved himself to be very sensitive when it comes to the plight of his people. He has worked tirelessly to give them good roads, improved health care, etc. He has also alleviated poverty in the state.

That much I know because I have family and friends who live in the state, and I hear from them regularly the way he governs the state. And how people sing his praises.

Although, I have not had the privilege of meeting him in person, I have heard much about his achievements since he became the governor of the state.

But it was rumoured that you collected N5m from him to feature at the 2014 Children’s Day celebration in the state. What’s your reaction to that?

There is no iota of truth in it. I never at a point collected a kobo from him. I don’t even know him one-on-one.

The rumour also has it that both of you are in a sizzling romance, that’s’ why you were invited to the May 27, 2014 celebration?

It’s not just untrue but laughable.

But were you truly the only actress invited for the ceremony and did you actually attend?

I wasn’t the only one invited.
What happened was that there was a book reading session organized by Best of Nollywood in conjunction with the Rivers State government, and celebrities were invited, among whom Alex Ekubo, Yomi Fash Lanso, Dayo Amusa, Olaitan Ogunbele and others.

I was also invited but I was out of the country then. So, I couldn’t attend.

I think it was the initiative of Rivers State government. I wasn’t the only actress invited for the programme.

So,I don’t know what could have informed such rumour.

Nigerian comedian Bovi has just made a joke about his wife, which she might consider not funny.

Detla State-born entertainer, who only a couple of months ago publicly praised his spouse Christabel, now takes to Instagram to call her… ugly.



He posted the photo of Christabel and their second child, who will turn 1 only in September, and captioned it as follows:



“Beautiful daughter, ugly mother, just keeping it real@ kristalugboma. Thank God for me who balanced ish up.”

While some of his fans laughed at the stunt, the others blasted Bovi calling him “blind”.

FIFA bans Luis Suarez for fourmonths, fined $112,000

FIFA's disciplinary committee released a statement on their website stating this. See it below...

"The player Luis Suárez is regarded as having breached art. 48 par. 1 lit. d of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) (assault), and art. 57 of the FDC (an act of unsporting behaviour towards another player).

· The player Luis Suárez is to be suspended for nine (9) official matches. The first match of this suspension is to be served in the upcoming FIFA World Cup fixture between Colombia and Uruguay on 28 June.

The remaining match suspensions shall be served in Uruguay’s next FIFA World Cup match(es), as long as the team qualifies, and/or in the representative team’s subsequent official matches in accordance with art. 38 par. 2a) of the FDC. Continue...

· The player Luis Suárez is banned from taking part in any kind of football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) for a period of four (4) months in accordance with art. 22 of the FDC.

Bey will be playing a character named Carly Kicker in Hancock 2. Not much else is known about the film other than the fact that Will is set to reprise hours 2008 role–not even the plot! We do know that Irene Bedard will play a woman named Knowles Neeson, and Adam Fierrois writing the screenplay.

This won’t be Beyoncé’s first movie, but this has the potential to be a very different role for her. She played a singer in Dream girls(not much of a stretch there), a singer/single mom in The Fighting Temptations, and a club singer/secret Agent in Austin Powers: Gold member.

We’re beginning to pick up on a theme here. She did briefly play a queen in the animated film Epic, though!

Queen B hasn’t spoken out on the part just yet, so fans will have to wait and see what her character’s storyline is all about. The nerdy part of us is really hoping she has super powers. Please don’t make her a villain, Columbia Pictures!

Black Wednesday: Explosion Hits Lagos

The busy Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos was thrown into pandemoniun, Wednesday night, when an explosives-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot.

Vanguard gathered that the explosion occurred at about 8:30pm; affecting four buildings, including two banks. The scene of the blast.

At press time, it was gathered that no fewer than four people were feared killed in the blast. Details later.

Super Falcon star turned fitness trainer, rapper & fashion designer, Chichi Igbo took to her instagram page recently to address her masculine physique, which quite a lot of people have questioned, saying she’s on steroids.



Despite looking like she does, 28year old Chichi says she doesn’t use steroids nor does she take any kind of supplement as being speculated. She says her rigorous football exercises made her this way and says she’s all woman with two b**bs and no balls between her legs.

Chichi, who played for Nigeria during the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup is based in Denmark, playing professional football.

So a followers just asked if I’m on male hormones/testosterone plus I get negative comments about being on steroids all the time.

So I’m Gonna address this. I’m not mad neither do I take it the wrong way cos I understand why it’s unbelievable that a female can have it like that but here is the truth, if y’all really pay attention you would know what I do for a living.

Playing soccer on a professional level is something taken seriously, which means the rules that applies for the highest sports out there on doping applies for us too which means we are dope tested as players by local federations and FIFA.

I know I own nobody no explanation but it’s always good to feed people’s curiosity so they can move on and that’s what I’m doing. I barely use them so called supplements cos I only wanna give credit to hard work, dedication, persistence and my genes.

I have my career to thank cos it’d be impossible for some to believe I’m natural but I’m a living proof that muscles can be gained naturally if you work for it. I’m a woman with two b**bs and no balls in between my legs, I’m just created special and that’s why I refuse to fit in or live by societies standards.

I’m a mystery to some but that’s ok, the world would be boring if we all looked alike, so accept and respect each other’s differences cos that’s thee only way we can live in peace and harmony.

Embrace your differences, you are not a mistake but specially made so please DO NOT allow people bully you into felling that you are not good enough or worthy.

They DONT have to like, understand or accept you, you are You are awesome just the way you are, so long you embrace and accept you for you.

I wouldn’t put myself out there if I could cos I majority of the time think people get at me for all the Wrongs reasons, I’d rather get complimented on my personality than my outer look, no offense but that’s just me, so I put myself out there so I could encourage and motivate others, I may not answer all the questions thrown at me but I try to respond when I can.

I hope I cleared this up. It’s ok to be a female and fit, that don’t make you less beautiful. Stay strong and healthy ������

'Don't call her my son' R-Kelly finally addresses transgender daughter's Case

In case you haven't heard, R&B legend R Kelly has a transgender daughter with ex-wife and star of Hollywood exes, Andrea Kelly. 14 year old Jaya Kelly (pictured right) now goes by the name Jay after she revealed she/he has identified as male since he was 7 years old.

She's dumped her female clothes and strictly wears clothes and even cut her hair. Jay admitted that her father recently found out about her transition to a boy but her mum and sister have known for a while and are supportive.



Well, R.Kelly may know that his daughter now calls herself a boy but he's definitely having difficulty coming to terms with it. When asked about it during an interview at the WCGI Summer Jam this week, R.Kelly shut the reporter up when he referred to Jaya as his son.

"Well, first off don’t start by calling her my son. As far as that’s concerned, always believe what you see - with your own eyes that is. That’s the best way to go about this business. I’ve heard a lot of things about a lot of people and it was never true.”
