The incident that made Ohakim broken with tears, allegedly occured around 1:30am. Ohakim alleged that some roofs were opened from outside the lobby before the suspected hoodlums threw in the bomb.

Contrary to the alleged bombing, when some of our reports made some inquires, they learnt that it was an electrical fault that wasn't controlled.

During a further statement Issued By the Ex Governor He said

"I think what triggered this action is my intention to make a political statement on Saturday. I don’t know how they did it but I will leave that for the security agencies to investigate. When I was the governor of the state, I did not assassinate any opposition member, neither did I harass anyone. I even took care of the opposition in the state but they have done this to intimidate me. I will still go ahead and make my political statement as planned on Saturday because I refuse to be cowed by this incident,’’...

Jay Z, Solange And Beyoncé Speaks Out On Elevator Fight

Beyonce and Jay Z are known to not respond to gossip or speculations in the media but I guess this time it's too serious to ignore. The couple just released a statement to Associated Press. Read below

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public.

They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

Deadly Blast Kill 43 And Injures Others In Syria-Turkey Border

At least 43 people were killed and more than 80 others were injured when a car bomb went off at a northern Syrian border post on the frontier with Turkey, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The explosion on Thursday occurred at a garage near the Bab al-Salameh border crossing in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo.

The garage is used by passengers who come to, or leave the crossing point, said Rami Abdurrahman, the Observatory's chief. Pictures sent by activists showed burnt cars, charred corpses and body parts in the area."At least 12 ambulances have transported wounded people into Turkey, the death toll is very high," an activist in the area told Reuters news agency.

The Local Coordination Committees, another activist group, told Associated Press that a car bomb at the border crossing killed and wounded "many" people.

Such explosions have occurred in the past in border areas near Turkey.

Turkey's private Dogan news agency reported the blast wounded "tens of people" in the Karaj Sajou area. It gave no further details.

Syria's conflict began with largely peaceful protests calling for reforms, transformed into an armed uprising and eventually a civil war following a ferocious military crackdown on protesters.

More than 150,000 people have died since March 2011, while millions have been displaced.

Explosions around Syria have killed and wounded thousands of people during the past three years.

IG Of Police MD Abubakar Dismissed

The Inspector of Police Mohammed Abubakar has been asked to proceed on compulsory leave by president Jonathan allegedly because of the rising insecurity in the country under his watch and police under-performance under his leadership.

The Secretary to the Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, issued a letter signed by the president on Monday May 12th asking the IG to hand over to his immediate subordinate, Suleiman Fakai, who is the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Finance and Administration.

MD Abubakar became Inspector General of Police on January 25, 2012.

His tenure was supposed to expire in July 2014, as he's due to retire July 30th 2014 based on mandatory retirement age after serving in the Nigerian Police Force for 35 years but had applied for extention of his tenure, but was turned down by the presidency.

Fakai will step in an acting capacity, until a new Inspector General is announced.

I liked Abubakar. I think he brought some sanity to the force. .It was under his leadership that police checkpoints on highways through which they extorted motorists and other road users were stopped. -LIB

Obasanjo Has Lists Of Boko Haram Leaders And Lawyers

Speaking on a BBC programme, Focus on Africa, which aired a special edition on Nigeria's insecurity yesterday night, Obasanjo said there's nothing wrong in trying a new approach to end the Boko Haram menace.

"If you had tried stick and stick alone and it has not worked, is there anything wrong to try something along with the stick," he said.

According to Obasanjo, in 2011, he took upon himself to investigate Boko Haram when they were getting out of hand in order to be a mediator and also find out if it was an organisation with aims and objectives and if they have foreign backing.

He said he met with people who knew the sect and he found out that Boko Haram has leaders and they had somebody acting as their lawyer.

"The lawyer, who was acting in proxy told me: 'Mr President if you want to meet their leaders give me three hours. I will gather their leaders, not in Nigeria but outside Nigeria. Obviously, they have leaders," Obasanjo said.

Meanwhile, human rights activist Shehu Sani said Obasanjo has a list of the leaders of Boko Haram sect which has a theocratic agenda. He warned the Federal government against using force to fight Boko Haram as it has not been able to yield any results.

He added that the federal government should first get the girls back home safely before using force on the Boko Haram insurgents.

She was immediately charged before an Igbosere magistrate court by the police for attempted murder but the presiding magistrate, Mrs. C. J. Momodu directed the case be transferred to a family court due to the age of the young girl. The case comes up for hearing at the Family Court on June 2nd.

President Goodluck Head To France For Summit On Boko Haram Crisis

President Goodluck Has Revealed he Will Travelling To France Today For The Planned Summit On The Boko Haram Rebellion

The summit is being hosted by France to try and find a resolution to tackle the the Boko Haram insurgency.
Jonathan thanked the support by the Britain and other foreign nations in trying to find a solution against the insurgency.
Mr Jonathan told the British Minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Mr. Mark Simmonds that his government is willing to allow international support in its search and rescue mission for the abducted girls from Chibok.
The plan for the summit was initiated by French President François Hollande last Sunday.
He had earlier said during his visit to Azerbaijan: "With Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, I have proposed to hold a meeting with the countries bordering Nigeria,".
Mr Jonathan praised the initiative saying that if the nations collaborate, the curse of Boko Haram would be taken care of.
Mr. Simmons said:"We are keen to support Nigeria in every possible way and help you overcome present challenges," he declared.

Boko Haram Threatens World Leaders

“We are stronger than America anywhere they are."

Boko Haram leader Imam Abubakar Shekau has made another video appearance, daring the United States and others.
He said none of the world powers could locate his whereabouts, no matter how hard they try. Besides, Shekau vowed that the sect would attack Abuja – the seat of the government and the refineries – the symbol of Nigeria’s economic power.
In a 56-minute video in which Shekau mixed Arabic, Hausa, English and Kanuri, he declared war against those he described as infidels, including Christians.
He also spoke on the fate of the girls, who have been converted to Islam.
He said: “I am going to marry all these girls off; you cannot see them again. We will sell them in the market; there is a market where I will sell them.
“If you bring three trillion troops, we will not release the girls. We stand to deal with infidels.
“If they catch me, it does not stop me from what I am doing. They said anybody that catches me will be given $50million. So I am important; Obama and Jonathan are unimportant.
“You are looking for who? It is not a new thing that they are catching children and selling them. It is the owner that puts them in the market.
“We are stronger than America anywhere they are. If you want to defend do so because I am ready.
“Where do you say you will come and look for me? Do you know where I am since all these days? “You are just searching in vain by looking at every nook and cranny.
“I don’t have a land; anywhere I find myself is my land because all land belongs to God.”
Shekau likened the sect’s campaign to the one in Afghanistan signposting a link with Al-Qaeda. He said: “The war we are fighting is like the ones in Afghanistan and Iraq, it is the war against Christians and infidels.
“Those fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Mali are my brothers. We will do Jihad. This is my message.”
Shekau took on many countries and world leaders. The list includes the US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China, Israel and Italy
He said: “Some of you (like Germany, Russia, China, Italy) think because we do not mention your names, you think we don’t know you people are involved.
“If I catch Jonathan, Obama and others I am going to sell them. Don’t think I am joking. God, you are my witness.
“If you (Obama, Jonathan, others) seek God’s forgiveness, He forgives. He is a merciful God. If you don’t seek forgiveness, I am going to cut you into pieces.”
He went on: “You Jonathan, you are watching me. If you like, go and bring everybody all over the world, you cannot do anything. Bring up human rights issue, you don’t know anything. Do Nigerians know their rights?
“I am the President; there is no President in Nigeria; there is no President in the world. I am the President in Islam and in the world.”
Shekau vowed that the spate of killings by the sect would continue in any part of the country.
He added: “We will kill until we get tired. We will kill all infidels until we get tired. We will kill unbelievers like chicken. We will tie them. We have decided what we will do.
“Any amount let them spend; we will bring this country down. We are stronger than America anywhere they are.
“We will open a killing pool for all those who have insulted us like George Bush, Obama and even Jonathan. “I pledge to Allah my God to be faithful, loyal and honest. And you to your country. We will know who God will answer between you and I.
“There is no government existing in Nigeria. Do you think you have government?”
On the sect’s recurring attacks on FCT, the Boko Haram leader said the sect would also not ceasefire. He added: “We are in Abuja, we will cause havoc. We will do Jihad. We are all Abuja residents. Very soon, we will come to Abuja.
“We are going to the refineries. We are going to the unbelievers. We won’t go to your (Jonathan’s) state; we will go to where there are refineries.”
Shekau listed the sect’s grouses against some world powers, including opposition to western education, democracy and homosexuality.
He said: “The war we are fighting is against democracy, constitution, Christianity and Western Education.
“I don’t have any relationship with Saudi Arabia, they are nothing. They are also unbelievers. I don’t follow white men. I am not going to follow anybody except God. I won’t have any relationship with anybody than God.
“You say you want to use democracy to cheat us or to deceive us. You are talking of government of the people by the people for the people. I am talking of the government of Allah by the Allah for the Allah
“What is the essence of allowing a female to marry a female? I don’t understand what they are saying. They said it is about freedom which I do not understand.”

FG Express Readiness To Negotiate With The Boko Haram Islamist Sect

The Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki, confirmed this opportunity during an interview with the BBC on May 13, 2014, Tuesday.
He said that if Boko Haram was sincere, its leader, Abubakar Shekau, should send people he trusted to meet the standing committee on reconciliation.
Turaki, who is Chairman of the Presidential Committee aimed at finding the ways to reach and agreement with Boko Haram, noted that "dialogue is a key option" in bringing the crisis to an end and that "an issue of this nature can be resolved outside of violence".
It would be noted that the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has previously rejected any possibilities for dialogue with terrorists, mentioning that Boko Haram shall not dictate conditions. On the same day, an official of the Ministry of Information, Mike Omeri, declared that the Federal Government is considering "all the options" to resolve month-long crisis.
However, it is likely that some sort of negotiations would start soon because of the large presence of international advisers in Nigeria, including hostage negotiators. The total number of working U.S. defence and security experts has reached 30 people.

CHIBOK: Video May Be Authentic As Parents Identify Wards

A screen capture taken from the latest Boko Haram video shows the alleged kidnapped girls dressed in hijabs and praying in an undisclosed rural location.
Mutali told SaharaReportes in a telephone interviews that she watched the video and spotted her daughter, Douka Yakubu, among 130 kidnapped girls wearing hijabs and reciting parts of the Qur'an in an unknown rural location.
She also said that two of the identified girls are seniors from Askari Uba Secondary School and Wuyo Secondary School near Chibok.
When asked if the parents possess any information regarding the location of the girls, Mutali said they kept hearing that their children were in Sambisa forest, the stronghold of Boko Haram.
School mates also identified three of the girls in the video, the BBC reports.
"The video got parents apprehensive again after watching it but the various steps taken by the governments and the coming of the foreign troops is boosting our spirit, even though I have not seen the any one soldier in Chibok yet," Dumoma Mpur, parent-teachers association chairman at Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, told Reuters by telephone on Tuesday.
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima ordered on May 12 for mass production of the video to enable parents identify their children.
A Chibok community leader Allan Manasseh told SaharaReporters that he personally visited seven parents and also met with one of the girls who escaped from the Boko Haram captivity, but none could recognize any of the girls in the video. Manasseh expressed concern that the insurgents may be using the new video to distract the world from pursuing the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls. He said that the video demonstrated that Boko Haram had many girls in their possession, stating that all them should to be rescued.
Boko Haram issued the video on Monday. The rebels' leader Abubakar Shekau said in the video that majority of the girls have converted to Islam and those who did not could be exchanged for the insurgents held in various prisons across
Nigeria. Nigerian government is now considering all options.
More than 200 school have been abducted by Boko Haram from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok on April 14. Some managed to escape while others are still missing.
Meanwhile, the United States with Nigeria's government's permission has deployed manned surveillance aircraft over Nigeria to find the girls
In a parallel development, President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a request to the National Assembly to approve another six-month extension to the year-old state of emergency in three north- eastern states worst hit by Boko Haram insurgency.

CHIBOK: US flying ‘manned’ missions to track down Abducted girls

(AFP) – The United States was Monday flying
“manned” missions over Nigeria to track down
more than 200 abducted schoolgirls as experts
pored over a new video seeking clues to where
they are being held.

“We have shared commercial satellite imagery
with the Nigerians and are flying manned ISR
(intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance)
assets over Nigeria with the government’s
permission,” a senior administration official said,
asking not to be named.

It was not immediately clear what kinds of aircraft
were being deployed, nor where they had come
from.

But a new video released by the Boko Haram
group purportedly showing about 130 of the girls
was being carefully studied by American experts
in the hope it might yield vital clues as to where
they are being held.

“Our intelligence experts are combing through
every detail of the video for clues that might help
ongoing efforts to secure the release of the girls,”
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said
earlier Monday.

“We have no reason to question its authenticity,”
she added of the video.

In the video, the Islamic militant group’s leader
Abubakar Shekau said the girls may be released
once Nigeria frees all the Boko Haram prisoners it
has in custody.

But that proposal has been rejected by the
Nigerian government, and Psaki recalled that the
US policy is also “to deny kidnappers the benefits
of their criminal acts, including ransoms or
concessions.”
A 30-strong US team arrived on the ground last
week in Nigeria to help growing efforts to find the
girls aged between 16 to 18, snatched from their
boarding school in the northeast of the country
on April 14.

The White House said the team included five
State Department officials, two strategic
communications experts, a civilian security expert
and a regional medical support officer.

Also on the manifest are 10 Defense Department
planners already in Nigeria, seven extra military
advisors from US Africa Command and four FBI
officials expert in hostage negotiations.

“We are talking about helping the Nigerian
government search an area that is roughly the
size of New England,” White House spokesman
Jay Carney said, referring to the region in the US
northeast.

“So this is no small task. But we are certainly
bringing resources to bear in our effort to assist
the government.”
Psaki stressed the Nigerian authorities were “in
the lead” during the investigation.

The girls’ plight has triggered a storm of outrage
across the United States, and First Lady Michelle
Obama on Saturday for the first time delivered
her husband’s weekly address to the nation to
say they were both “outraged and heartbroken”
by the kidnapping.

“This unconscionable act was committed by a
terrorist group determined to keep these girls
from getting an education — grown men
attempting to snuff out the aspirations of young
girls,” she said.
