Alleged Bombing In Ikedi Ohakim Residence


It was alleged that the Owerri residence of the immediate past governor of Imo state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim was bombed on Thursday with suspected highly explosive device allegedly planted by his political detractors. The incident that made Ohakim broken with tears, allegedly occured around 1:30am. Ohakim alleged that some roofs were opened from outside the lobby before the suspected hoodlums threw in the bomb.

    "This is the only building I have in this state, I built it in 1992 when I was a commissioner, now I have to knock at people’s door to have a place to sleep," he added.


Contrary to the alleged bombing, when some of our reports made some inquires, they learnt that it was an electrical fault that wasn't controlled.

During a further statement Issued By the Ex Governor He said

    "I think what triggered this action is my intention to make a political statement on Saturday. I don’t know how they did it but I will leave that for the security agencies to investigate. When I was the governor of the state, I did not assassinate any opposition member, neither did I harass anyone. I even took care of the opposition in the state but they have done this to intimidate me. I will still go ahead and make my political statement as planned on Saturday because I refuse to be cowed by this incident,’’...
